ED MN Rep Convention: We have a couple spots left if you would like to represent your colleagues at the Education Minnesota Representative Convention. The convention is held April 27-28 at the Doubletree Hotel in Bloomington. The Rep Convention is our state union’s highest governing body and makes major decisions about our actions and chooses our leaders. We provide an association leave day, hotel, and expenses for those who take their time to do the work of our organization. Email us at ahem@anoka.k12.mn.us if you are interested.
April 1st Deadline for Ceasing Extracurricular Duties: Reminder to those who participate in extracurricular duties: if you are not planning to continue in your role next year, let your principal or supervisor know by April 1st. Here’s the exact language from our contract: “Teachers wishing to cease participating in duties for which compensation is received shall notify the Principal by April 1, so that the teacher shall be relieved of such duties for the following year.” (Article IV, Section 8, page 3 of our orange contract book)
